Singer Christina Aguilera's marriage to music executive Jordan Bratman has legally ended.
The pop star got a divorce Friday after the required six-month waiting period from the date of filing divorce papers elapsed, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
The former couple had finalised a settlement in February and agreed to share custody of their three-year-old son Max.
It is believed they divided their assets according to their prenuptial agreement.
Aguilera is now dating 25-year-old Matt Rutler, whom she met while working in her film "Burlesque".
"In light of the past year, there have been obvious setbacks. I've gone through a really hard divorce, and anyone who has gone through a divorce will speak about how hard the journey is from start to finish," she said.

According to reports by the US Weekly, singer Christina Aguilera has separated from her husband Jordan Bratman for ‘a few months’. They also have a son together – Max, who is 2 years old. They met for the first time 8 years ago. They dated for a while before deciding to tie the knot in 2005.
There were reports that the 29-year-old singer and the 33-year-old music executive Jordan Bratman have already been separated for a few months. The reason responsible for the separation is yet to be clearly known.
It does seem surprising that the couple decided to separate for a while, because some time ago, in an interview the singer had said that she was very happy in her marriage.
However neither Christina nor Jordan have firmly decided whether they want a divorce or not. According to sources, this is just a trial separation and they both want to see how things turn out eventually.
According to sources, “They were very much in love. But over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife.”
The singer also tried to rekindle the romance in their marriage with a proposed vacation but things didn’t turn out the way that she expected.

Christina believes women are sexier than men because she feels women's body is much more appealing to look at.
"I think women are such sensual beings. And, I mean, I'm attracted to men ultimately - I'm married and I love my husband and I love what we do together, but honestly? If I had the choice between viewing a naked man or a naked woman, I'd choose the woman. We're just naturally sexier and more beautiful to look at," she added.
