Went in on Friday to get the name change done. I will get it back on 9th July about 11 working days thought web site claimed 6-8 working days.
For 16, take a copy of what ever visa you are on.. H4/H1 etc.
Column 31 should be left blank as its a name change.
PS use new signature below photograph for new passport. Also new name should be filled in the form.

In talking to multiple travel agents, I don't think there is such a thing called "open ticket". I guess there is always a return date and most air lines will allow you to reschedule, some for free and some for a charge based on your ticket class.
The 6 months return validity suggestion above is valid, assuming they are on a visit visa (not have a GC themselves :). when my parents came they only have the ticket for 4 months and the officer at POE gave them 6 months on the departure card.

No bill was introduced in Senate. Where is the question of voting? If anti immigrants some how make waste these 2 weeks of time in Senate then there will not be enough time to discuss. Now 60% chance. If no bill is introduced in Senate before end of may it will come down to 40%.

So the USCIS finally knows about it :)
On the other note, those 88 cents I spent to download that document from the court site are my best investment since I've bought a house. Anybody needs green points? :)

What is interesting is that both Zest2003 and Zenfloater on are EB-3 India with priority dates in Summer 2003. So neither of them has a current PD.
I had three separate conversations in the last few weeks -- with a TSC IO, with staff in Michael Aytes office and with staff in the Ombudsmans Office, all of whom confirmed that cases are not assigned to adjudicators if their priority dates are not current i.e. no preadjudication of retrogressed cases.
I made strong arguments to both staffers about how unjust this is since if dates move, retrogressed cases won't be good to go, and unused visas go to less retrogressed or unretrogressed categories.
Now these two posters on seem to suggest that retrogressed cases are being given to adjudicators....it would be great if other retrogressed applicants posted about what they are hearing.

Do we need photo copies (about originals - having original labor is not possible it would have been submitted with I140; most employer keep the original I140 as well). Some companies dont provide copies of labor or I140.
Is it risky to change jobs and invoke AC21 in this situation? (This is the scenario: labor, I140 is approved. I485 is pending for six+ months. EAD and AP are approved and are with cadidate; have six months pay stubs/tax info to prove that have been original labor sponsored employer for six months after filing I485).

Also, keep looking for opportunities to write to editors, anchors etc., whenever they speak rubbish. All that we are doing now is letting the media know that legal immigrants have huge issues and unresolved problems. We are writing to them that things have been very unfair. We are educating them............

Btw, besides my contribution, I have made more then 20 people to contribute and as well made more then 50 to become IV members by creating threads in forums like murthy.com & immigration.com. I'm the first person to let the people in Cisco systems to know about IV during its initial stage by mailing to the common email aliases used by Indians and Chinese and only person to do so until Apr 15, I left Cisco after that. I faced lot of criticisms but even then I would mail at least once in 3 weeks and remind them the importance of joining and contributing to IV. I believe there are at least 100 members from Cisco.
I made my friends to contribute and made them to post details about IV in companies such as HP, NetApp, BMS, and Symantec etc.
I have also volunteered when the admin or shery wanted volunteers.
I may not have done exceptional contribution when compared to the core members and senior member like you but did contribute to best of my effort and have email proofs/appreciation from members who have joined and contributed because of my initiation. Please send a private msg with your contact email, I can forward those emails.

Few months agoI have applied for AP and requested for an expedite process.
I have sent two pre-stamped envelops with the application. This is at NSC.
Fortunately, they have approved it in a week and sent the AP documents using the envelops. I have recevied the documents on the next day.
If you have a valid reason, it doesn't hurt requesting the expedite process with a proper evidence.

The original poster said that she was "laid off". So the question of her sponsoring company paying her does not arise. And hence she is without a job and she knows it. On this basis I said that it would be considered fraud if she goes for H1B stamping.

they received my response but havent updated my case yet...waiting for it..

Can you please explain further - what you mean by "So, the person intended to cash it cannot. " Does it mean that if you make a request to track the MO thru' PO then USCIS will not be able to encash it.
The way you track money orders is , after 30 days from the date u gave them out , pull out the Money Order Sequence "Number" at the bottom of the top slip that you have. Give that in along with $5 to your local post office. they would track it for you and give a report.
CAREFUL though. USPS , when it goes to track the MO, if it has not been cashed, they will give back the value on that MO (say the face value of the MO is $500 , if un-cashed , they give u $500 ). So, the person intended to cash it cannot.
If cashed they give you the person's ID who cashed it.
So, wait for a while before you invoke the process.

Good Catch Jonty, and the guy has the audacity to claim that his(is it really his, or store bought) priority date is 2004. For the sake of thousands who are not scamming the system, I sure hope this guy had sent a single check for 140 and 485 together.

Just noticed that my lawyer has attached marriage certificate of my co-worker in the dependendent's petition. I am waiting for the receipt.

I was in a similar situation and included 2 prepaid overnight envelopes (which btw, they have mentioned in their instructions). They probably tossed them in the bin and chose to send them by untrackable usps mail which took over a week to arrive. Very very aggravating! :mad:

How do you know your AP is about to get approved? And by the way, you cannot ask USICS to send via FedEx. They have a contract with USPS and they send only thru them.
