i think 10-20 members have done more than half the work and contributions. Another 100-300 have done the remaining work and added to the contributions. Whereas 11,000+ members have just sipped tea/coffee from the sidelines. Do we really need these people here? They are so out of touch with reality in helping their own cause.
Undocumented workers have shown better analytic abilities: they have collected contributions in millions. No wonder they are are getting more points (in the proposed point system) then others currently considered skilled by DOL.

I started working for them 6 months ago. Our HR head left and some idiot from Legal dept is looking at immigration matters.

Hello Everyone,
This morning I was getting in to office and got a thought. Everyone of us here talk about saving money, settling in US, buying home or going back with savings. I thought I would start this thread to get a general idea about how much you actual need. I know this is no way related to retrogression, but it has an indirect impact on our lives and also the desire to get GC quickly.
Questions:
1)What is your current age?
2) How much $ you need if you wish to settle in US. After attaining this figure you can retire, work for fun or work part time etc. Point is you feel comfortable.
3) How much money you need in India to settle?
4) By what age you wish to acheive either 2 or 3
If there are any other things like kids education money add as desired. This is just a discussion and I know priorities differ.

I echo Walking Dude's comment. You can either keep complaining about how the immigration system is failing you and how unfair it is OR you can take action and actually DO something about it. Please participate in IV's campaign if you haven't already done so. AND please motivate OTHERS to participate as well. It will only take 10 minutes of your time.

Thank you for your reply. I talked to my lawyer he is a big lawyer in detroit with the immigration he only told that since my marriage is before my GC approved date and she came on H4 and and have valid I-94 and she won't be illigal status.
Once the dates are current I can apply for her 485. again I will contact them .

Can any one let me know on what further communications we get from the USCIS and what my attorney gets. Really appreciate if some one could direct me to a link on the process. Thanks a lot. Sorry for starting a new thread if it was already posted any where. I did a quick glance but couldn't find something similiar (I MAY BE WRONG). Thanks

I agree. No harm in trying.
I think as thing stands now....everything is lull and you should think/talk to the lobbying firm about capturing some lost time...at least 2-3 years..I know its difficult and let any congress member introduce this..it may slip thro the cracks and become a law...just try...no harm in trying,...its an very important provision..it basically compensates for the time waste/stress and the frustration we are going thro'...and time capture provision is only fair...throw it in the muddle and see what happens...

It does seem now that I am stuck failing in 10th grade for 4 years only reason being the INS..

I have read that attorneys advice clients not to leave the country when H1 is in process. To my understanding, this is because the Change of Status application will become invalid if the person reenters using the old status.

I assumed that she already has approved H1b with a start date of October 1st before she departs the country. But if the H1b application is in progress then you are right, it is not safe to travel while your application is in progress.

Guys.. Please dont read too much into Washington Post article. Journalists who dont have a background in immigration just have to prefix their sentences with few "somes" and "all". If you read up on most articles about this fiasco, they are generic in nature and are seldom accurate. So, don't sweat and don't go by speculations.

is it really true that we as a community only care about notices and receipts and only fight about PD/RD and ND? those seem to be the overwhelming majority of active threads....
we may win the battle and all hold receipts soon, then lose the war as we settle in to wait 10 agonizing years for a gc. please think about it, long and hard.

It is not surprising, even my HR had same problems, we had the attorney talk to them and explain that they need to give to candidate, company a****les believes attorney more than me.
